As a mum, I understand the importance of having a lasting memento of your little one while they're growing and learning. But I also know that no parent wants an unnatural, stiffly posed school photo that fails to capture their child's personality.
My approach to preschool, kindergarten and daycare photography is a bit different. I spend time with each child and make sessions fun to allow their personalities to shine. I like to let the children just be themselves in order to capture unique images that parents will truly treasure.
So what's different?
On photo day, I like to begin by taking natural shots of the children chatting and playing in their usual room or playground, so they feel as comfortable as possible with me and the camera. This also reduces disruption to the centre’s routine. As well as spending a few minutes with each child capturing candid photos, I will also aim to get a group portrait of the children with their educators and sibling shots where possible.
Following the session, families will receive login details to view and select photos or packages from a password-protected online gallery. For some ideas of what to wear on photo day and other questions you may have, please see below. If you are interested in booking me to come to your preschool/kindy/daycare or if you would like more information about the packages I offer, then please contact me here.
What should my child wear?
I always say dress your child in something you love them in! Clothes and colours that you know suit your little one are a good choice – it's best not to trial a new outfit on photo day.Try to avoid large logos, Disney characters or busy patterns – classic colours, rich textures and simple patterns (such as spots or stripes) work well. On colder days, make sure your child's jacket, hat, scarf etc is chosen for photo day too.
How do I choose my photos?
Following the session, families will receive login details to view and select photos or packages from a password-protected online gallery. No envelopes to take home (or remember to return!) and the online system couldn't be easier. It's child's play! Now choosing which photos you love the most, that's a different story...
How much do photos cost?
Packages start at $35, individual prints from $18 and for stunning wall art that you'll never grow tired of (how could you, it's your baby!), beautiful gallery-wrapped canvases or showstopping acrylic prints start from $150.
Can I purchase just one print?
Absolutely! Families are welcome to buy prints individually, they can even choose just a group photo.
Can I buy the digital files?
Yes you certainly can! I offer a digital package that includes all the high resolution images available to download securely from my website. This gives you the option to print as you please at any time – perfect if you just can't decide which photos you love the most or for when you want to stock up on extra prints for family Christmas presents!
Do you offer staff photos?
As part of the service, preschools receive group photos as well as complimentary staff portraits (digital format).
What about siblings?
For siblings that attend the same centre, I will always try to capture some cute pictures of your little darlings together. When ordering packages, parents receive a 10% discount for siblings.
Do you offer fundraiser sessions?
Yes I do! For just $20 per family (with a minimum of 10 families participating), these fun and relaxed 15 minute sessions can be held in the familar surroundings of your preschool or a park location. All of that $20 is paid directly to the centre and as a bonus each family receives a complimentary 8x12 print with an option to purchase further prints or all of the high resolution images from the session. A great way to have fun and earn funds for your centre – not to mention the opportunity of getting family photos at a fraction of the cost of a regular session.
